Car Branding

Applying your company branding to a car is a great way to promote & advertise your business. Given that your car is seen by hundreds of people on a daily basis, it is the prime location to brand your business.

Introduction to: Car Branding

You can brand a car in various different ways, allowing for all levels of budgets. Each method will dictate how effective it is in promoting & marketing your product or service.

Part Car Branding: A common type of car wrap is a part wrap. This is where you wrap the rear section of your vehicle in either cut text or a printed image. The rear section of a car is the most effective place to apply vinyl, as it is seen most of the time by following traffic. Having said that, a logo on the bonnet/ phone numbers on the front doors will also help in standstill traffic. You can also now cover the rear window in a specific type of vinyl, (Contravision) which allows you to see out the window but not in. This allows you to have a printed image on the rear window without limiting the visibility.

Full Car Branding: Want to be bold? Opt for a full vehicle wrap. Covering all angles ensuring no matter where you are in your car, people will notice you! This can be done in two ways, a full printed wrap or a primary colour with graphics on top. Either of these methods will greatly enhance the chance of people noticing your product or service therefore increasing potential sale leads.

Our experienced in-house design team will arrange a meeting to gain information on the type of car(s) you have. We will then discuss what you are wanting to achieve bearing in mind your budget. We will then create a Photoshop visual showing what your car could potentially look like. Once the design is finalised, it is then sent to our production team.

2 | Production

Our in-house production team will take your final design and begin to print/ cut the vinyl utilising our state of the art equipment. With industry leading print quality thanks to our Epson SureColor SC-280600, you can have the confidence that you will receive the clearest print to date.

3 | Application

Our vehicle wrapping team will now begin to prep your car, giving the vehicle a wash removing any dirt or debris to allow for easy application. The vinyl is lined up using laser alignment to ensure all text/ graphics are straight. Once we are happy everything has lined up and is correct to the visual, the team begin to apply the vinyl to the car.

4 | Final Touches

The vehicle is then checked round to ensure the design is correct to the visual / fitting quality is up to standard. If any issues do arise, we will re-print and amend as necessary. Once our workshop manager is happy, it is polished and taken out ready for collection.

We work using the best materials in the business, industry-leading brands such as 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl wraps. We understand how much your vehicle matters to you, therefore we work to only the highest of car wrapping standards.

What you need to know about Car Wrapping

LW Graphics has a long and respected history in vehicle graphics. From the initial design stage to final application, we are your one-stop-shop to market and promote your product or service.

Which types of cars have we branded previously?

We have wrapped all types of vehicles both commercial and privately. Commercial vehicles such as Vauxhall Astra’s, Ford Ranger’s and VW Golfs. In addition to this, our Reforma division has wrapped privately owned cars such are Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Bugatti Veyron’s therefore we have the knowledge and trust in wrapping all types of vehicles.

Which companies have branded their cars?

Many of the biggest brands and service providers in the UK wrap their cars as a method of either promoting or out of necessity. For example emergency service vehicles such as police cars will be wrapped in reflective vinyl with cut graphics. Whereas food outlets such as Domino’s Pizza will wrap their delivery vehicles to promote their food and service. Two very different purposes but one very simple technique: vinyl wraps.

Added benefits of branding your car?

Vinyl can in fact protect your vehicle from stone chips & scratches. Adding a protective layer ensuring the paint work beneath is kept in a good condition. This is ideal if, for example, you have leased a section of vehicles on a short term basis and are required to give them back. This can help you avoid them unexpected damage costs when returning the cars.

What type of vinyl do we use?

We only use the best vinyl from the leading manufactures in the industry. Brands such as 3M, Avery Dennison, Arlon and Vion. This will give you confidence that the wrap applied will be durable throughout the year irrespective of harsh weather conditions. Typically each manufacture has a vinyl life expectancy of 3 to 5 years however with newer vinyl’s such as the 3M 2080 series, it increases to 7 years.

What are the key elements of effective car branding & promotion?

Clarity is key when applying branding to your car. The surface of a vehicle isn’t as flat as a van therefore making the most of the space is key. If text is laid on a panel with severe creases, it may be difficult to read with as it’s a moving object. Therefore, our in-house design team can help you achieve the most efficient design by creating Photoshop/ Illustrator visuals. Allowing you to see what the vehicle could like like prior to any graphics being applied. Keeping your design simple & clean is important, too much information can clutter the space making it difficult for people to understand.

What if elements of my business change after the wrap?

We can alter your wrap at any point. If you feel particular areas are going to change within your business, if we are told in advance, we can apply temporary vinyl which will allow you to peel it off with little or no damage to the vinyl below. You can then change this as you wish. For example your contact number changes or you have a new product or service to promote, the use of temporary vinyl is great to keep your wrap up to date.

Frequently Asked Questions About Car Branding

Any questions? You’re not the only one! See below our most frequently asked questions in relation to van sign writing. If you are still seeking clarity on something, please feel free to call us and one of the team will be more than happy to assist.

  • How much does it cost to brand a car?

A full car wrap, which includes material & installation, can start from £1,200 + VAT. However, a partial wrap or just cut graphics will be considerably less. Cut graphics can start from £150 + VAT.

  • What is vehicle livery?

Vehicle livery can be a great advertisement and promotional tool for your business. An eye catching design will stand out on the road and elevate your brand just by driving it around. Wrapping a car will also provide paint protection whilst giving the vehicle a new look. Vehicle livery is one of the most cost effective ways forms of advertising.

  • How do I remove the wrap from my car?

The best way to remove the vinyl is to use a heat gun. Gently heat the vinyl and pull it away. You can also apply steam to the surface which will allow the glue to come away more easily. If you are wanting to update your wrap design, we can de-wrap your car for you.

  • How long does it take to wrap a car?

Depending on the complexity of the vehicle/ design, we would aim to complete the wrap within 5 working days. For example a full printed wrap on an Audi A1 would take 4 full working days. Whereas cut graphics on a Ford Ranger would take 1 working day.

  • How do you wrap a car?

Each car wrap begins by giving the vehicle a thorough wash, removing any dirt or debris from the surface. The panels are then further prepped with our surface specific solutions. The vehicle is then brought into our workshop to be stripped down. Removing parts such as the lights and grills. This allows our vehicle wrapping team the flexibility to tuck the vinyl around the edges. This will reduce the chance of any lift going forwards. Once the vinyl has been applied, our technician will re-assemble the vehicle and conduct a functions test to ensure everything is working as it should. It is then polished and quality control checked to ensure we are happy with the standard of work.
