Boat Wrapping Leeds

Wrapping your boat is a great way to promote & advertise your sponsors. Given that your boat is seen by thousands of people at an event, it is the prime location to promote your partners.

Introduction to: Boat Wraps

Boat wraps are a great way of giving your boat a new, updated look or simply the vinyl can be used to protect the original paint work underneath. The vinyl isn’t affected by the water so the whole boat can be wrapped or just a cabin.

Cut Graphics: We can apply logos and lettering to any boat, whether it be the name or some simple stripes along the cabin.

Full Wrap: To really make a statement the whole hull and sides can be wrapped in a print or single colour. Have a look at our case studies of boats wrapped in Avery Dennsion chrome. The cut graphics can still be applied on top.

Both methods would work to give your boat a new lease of life and allow for effective marketing space.

Why Choose LW Graphics?
Our Boat Sign Writing Process

We have a proven process in place to help you brand your boat. Having dedicated teams in each area to give you a smooth and stress free experience.

1 | Design

Our experienced in-house design team will arrange a meeting with yourself to gain information about the boat. We will then discuss what you are wanting to achieve bearing in mind your budget. This leads to creating a Photoshop visual showing what your boat could potentially look like. Once the design is finalised, it is then sent to our production team.

2 | Production

Our in-house production team will take your final design and begin to print/ cut the vinyl utilising our state of the art equipment. With industry leading print quality thanks to our Epson SureColor SC-280600, you can have the confidence in the quality of print.

3 | Application

Our wrapping team will now begin to prep your boat, giving the boat a wash removing any dirt or debris to allow for easy application. The vinyl is lined up using laser alignment to ensure all text/ graphics are straight. Once we are happy everything has lined up and is correct to the visual, the team begin to apply the vinyl to the boat.

4 | Final Touches

The boat is then checked all around to ensure the design is correct to the visual and fitting quality is up to standard. If any issues do arise, we will re-print and amend as necessary. Once our workshop manager is happy, it is polished and taken out ready for collection.

Collection & Drop-off For Your Boat

Let us make the process easy for you. At LW, we are proud to serve clients nationwide, utilising our collection and drop-off service to make the process as easy and hassle-free as possible. What you need to know about Boat Sign Writing

LW Graphics has a long and respected history in vehicle graphics. From the initial design stage to final application, we are your one-stop-shop to market and promote your product or service.

What types of boats have we wrapped previously?

We have wrapped a few rowing boats for the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge, a 3000 mile, self-supported race across the Atlantic. Most of the challengers have sponsors, so we’ve applied sponsorship logos to their boat with many opting for bright colours to ensure they stand out from the crowd in the race.

What type of vinyl do we use?

We use materials from brands such as 3M, Avery Dennison, Arlon and Vion- ensuring industry leading quality. This allows you a range of finishes from chrome, satin, matte, metallic and gloss. Typically, each manufacture has a vinyl life expectancy of 3 to 5 years however with newer vinyl’s such as the 3M 2080 series, it increases to 7 years. We also use a special reflective window vinyl that can be applied to cabin windows to keep out the sun’s heat and protects GRP from UV degradation.

Why is vinyl a suitable option for boat wraps?

Vinyl can be manipulated to any shape which makes it a great material to use on a boat as there are a lot of curves and objects to maneuver around. Our fitters will be able to just lay the vinyl in panels, ensuring there are no bubbles or folds in whatever shape is required, cutting around objects when needed. Using vinyl also means you can have any design you want – if you want a really detailed design you would have to pay for a highly skilled painter, whereas with vinyl it’ll be the same price as a regular colour.

Added benefits of wrapping your boat?

It’s easily removable without damaging the paint underneath, which is good if it is involved in races and has a rotation of graphics that need adding or taking away. The resale value of a white boat was higher, so wrapping the boat allows you to have any design you want while maintaining the white paint underneath. It’s easy to care for and repair. Vinyl is just a wipe clean material, as long as it’s not too abrasive. It’s likely the vinyl will get small scuffs when mooring and other bumps but vinyl can be repaired easily and is cheaper to repair than a paint or gel coat.

The vinyl we use protects against UV, fading and abrasion while not fading itself.

Are boat wraps a cost effective advertising exercise?

As seen in our previous commissions, boat decals are great for sponsorship. LW Graphics allow you the flexibility to add and remove as you wish. We understand sponsorships can change in the lead up to an event therefore being able to alter size/ location due to the financial incentive beneficial.

  • Is vinyl waterproof?

Vinyl is water resistant so will not be effected by water once applied to the required surface.

A full boat wrap, which includes material and installation, can start from £2,500 + VAT. However just to wrap certain sections and cut graphics can start from £350 + VAT.

The premium vinyl we use, such as 3M 2080, has a lifespan of up to 7 years (others vary from 3-7 years), which makes it as good as a marine paint job. Vinyl is generally more fade-resistant than paint, so your boat is likely stay looking fresh longer than a paint job.
